Ugly
Most gardeners I know grow flowers because they are beautiful.
But my neighbor kept hideous looking flowers. They looked like crumpled paper with brown spots.
“The uglier, the better! he said. Fascinating.
Rare sight
Roses are red, so are hibiscus. Imagine the delight of discovering not one, but two hibiscus colors which I’ve never seen before!
Good to be alive
White and pure, with a dash of red, it’s five fingers outstretched like a gleeful child in a star-jump.
This species found only in Malaysia and Singapore, is threatened by habitat loss. Good to know someone bothers to cherish its existence.
Tinge
Who says red will stands out? A yellow tinge is outstanding against red backdrop. Almost like gold flakes on the petals.
Accidental beauty
It was as if red paint spilled accidentally on this white canvas and created this garden beauty.
Fly here
Hello it’s Labor Day, and my body deserves a treat. Made today’s home-grown breakfast, freshly produced. Even the butterfly is seduced.
– sweet basil and moringa leaves (self supply)
– flowers : butterfly pea, ixora, ginger (self supply)
– Cucumber and romaine lettuce from supermarket.
– dried mulberry fruits from Chinese herbal shop.
– toss with desired salad dressing. Using sesame dressing today.
Thirst
Lovely purple drink for the hot weather. Felt utterly refreshed after downing 3 glasses.
Boil green apple slices till soft.
Add in butterfly pea at boiling point.
Add a dash of lemon juice. Serve chilled.
Toil
A happy gardener is one who does it voluntarily and passionately.

Spot
Spring is here. What kind of spotty plants bloom?
