I had the privilege to meet the Caring Clowns during a recent hospital visit. Donned with the infamous clown symbols – red-nose, loud costumes and huge funny shoes, these “Patch-Adams” walked down the pediatric ward to cheer the sick children by clowning. A chat with them revealed they have been around for 13 years, train themselves professionally and are completely self-funded.

“Our payment is the patient’s laughter”, they said simply. A new respect arise in me with my Samsung S6.
